All Digital - and Voice Modes - One Solution...

For all digital-modes like PSK31 , WSJT-X , WSPR , JT65HF , JT9 , Olivia ... and many , many more and also for Voice-SSB-mode the SignaLink_USB from TIGERTRONICS I have in use . For work ALL MODES You must never make / change to new interconnections between KX3 and PC if You like to change the mode at every time ! Voice-Modes are also working very well with using a simple Headset connected to the PC-soundcard ... how You would need the same for Skype or other VOIP-Modes . The SignaLink-interface gives a galvanically isolated FULL separation between the TRX and PC in the signal path. For Voice-Modes / SSB it is very comfortable to use the software from VE3NEA , "Voice Shaper". This is a fantastic , graphic equalizer for PC , better as a lot of many different hardware or transceiver-built-in solutions which would cost only much money more ... ! In this software you just need to set only the sound card device for input / output and everything will run over the SignaLink-interface. I use even a very good wireless Bluetooth Headset for SSB. "Voice Shaper" also run and tested under WINDOWS-8 and WINDOWS-8.1 .

Caution : Not all Bluetooth - Headsets have the same very good quality !
I have tested 5 different ... the most had a very bad audio and totally insensitive microphone ... and were completely unsuited. ( Perhaps even not more than to use only for Skype.) But THIS HEADSET SHOWN HERE has both - the headphones and the microphone... - ALL have EXCELLENT Hi-Fi QUALITY ! That is why for voice modes / SSB .... I use this Bluetooth - Headset : PLANTRONICS - Audio-995 . But a very good modulation will also achieved when only a PC headset is used , which costs less than *20,-- $/USD and would not be wireless . It is only VERY IMPORTANT how carefully and exactly You configurate the audio frequency response in terms of Your specific own voice and AF-input-specification of used transceiver . At the screenshot of "Voice Shaper" (see screenshot-picture above...) You can see which configuration I have choosen for the Plantronics-Headset . This settings gives You - for example ... - as result a very clean modulation like "Broadcast-Quality" of Your SSB-signal . But You can change that all , but You should can always hear Your own signal back for control Your setting changes .The monitor-function of the KX3 is absolutely perfect and very helpfully for the procedure of making Your adjustments in "Voice Shaper". To get the best results it is recommended that You make some experiments . You will not be disappointed that you can super modulation to achieve and You will be surprised about changes of a minimal few dB major great impact will have . I can best recommend to use the "Voice Shaper"-Software and this headset from "Plantronics" . This headset has really and absolutly high quality performance , especially the built-in microphone has a very high sensitivity and the audio frequency response start from lowest frequencies up to the highest You can hear !
